Members of Kehillat Masada
Ladies and gentlemen
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all here today to this important and significant milestone in the history of Kehillat Masada-----The induction of R Krebs as the third Spritual leader and minister of our Synagogue
It was only 22 years ago,starting in a school classroom, that members had the vision and determination to ensure that there would be a strong, viable and cohesive Jewish community here in St Ives.
I stand here today,a very proud president,proud not only of the growth and success of our community, but also of the optimism and enthusiasm that is permeating our kehilla.
This weeks Parsha,Parsha Bereishit is about beginnings.We begin a new cycle of Torah readings in which we learn about the beginnings of the universe ,the world and everything in it
We too are beginning a new chapter in our history today with the appointment of R Krebs.
With new beginnings come new exciting opportunities and we look to you for vision guidance and leadership.
Maimonides in Hilchot Melachim;
The purpose and intent of a true leader shall be to elevate mankinds faith and to fill the world with justice .
You have a contagious passion for Yiddishkeit and together with Rebbetzin Krebs are a dynamic team full of new ideas energy and inspiration.
In the short period of time that you have been with us you have endeared yourselves to everyone and have imbued the lives of so many with meaning,motivation and purpose.
We have just heard a rendition of Baruch Haba sung by our choir
Blessed is he who comes in the name of Hashem
May you be blessed from the house of Hashem
Rabbi ,we wish you much Bracha and Hatzlacha ,Blessings and success in your new position and we look forward with faith, hope and confidence to this new era that we in this Kehilla are embarking on
